Default Converting KPH to MPH on JDM Cluster

Does anyone know where a JDM cluster can be converted to read MPH. I asked a local speedometer shop and though I was crazy. Thanks for all replies.

You need a custom face for your gauge and that should do it.

Here is a calculator so you can convert kilometers to miles
http://convert.french-property.co.uk/index.htm .

Just mark out on your km face where the miles are that you want and make a custom face that fits to those marks.

When I first bought my SiR about 5 years ago I wanted to change the faces to MPH, but instead I kept with the KPH faces and before long I got the hang of it.

you can actually buy an electronic device that'll modify the input from the speed sensor and turn it into mph so that the KPH displayed is actually the MPH you're going. I forget who makes them, but I think dakota digital dash will make you one. otherwise a amateur electronic engineer could do it easily with minimal cost.

Just a thought but I could be wrong?? But what about just getting MPH overlays? Are the gauges the same size? I mean couldnt you go and pick up some gauge covers and put them on and then have the MPH?? Like I said I could be wrong its only a suggestion/question at the same time.

You could allways just get the UK VTI cluster. Tach goes to 9250rpm and 155 on the speedo.

learn how to count, memorizing the important speeds isn't that difficult!

To Brewfrom Nashville, TN. It was a simple question that required a simple answer. It does make me an idiot, but it does make you come off like an a-hole!!!

The question was if it could be coverted or not. It wasn't about messing up the JDM look, because that was the reason I bought it. You know it pointless to try an argue about it. But you shouldn't be an ******* in your comments to people.

you just have to watch ebay.com or http://www.ebay.co.uk they come around every so often but expect to pay big for one because very few were made.

Here is one that I found...

I know this is an old post but apparently I have an account so why not reply??

I just got my 2nd UK VTI cluster off of eBay. The first one went into an 88 USDM Si (back in 2005ish) and the 2nd one was destined for my JDM SiR. Unfortunately, USDM and UKDM uses an analog speedo cable whereas the JDM cluster uses an electronic speedo.

I've had the car for almost 10 years and decided a UK cluster with 155mph was the way to go since I had done it before. But after taking a look at the back of the JDM cluster, that doesn't seem to be as easy as I had anticipated.

I know there are haters that say, "you spent all that money, keep it JDM." The VTI cluster goes to 155mph, JDM does not go that high in KM.

Anyways, I don't see any write-ups for JDM SiR to UK VTI gauges. If anyone has a valid link, I'll buy you lunch, a beer, or both. ¯

I took the time to roll back the speedo to match the 143,000mph equivalent of my 233,000km JDM cluster...

I don't think I can just swap the instruments of the VTI cluster over to the JDM housing because the UK VTI requires an analog cable just like the USDM...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
