Default clutch issues, making scraping noise

Ok, I have an ACT heavy duty performance clutch (9ACT-AI2-HDSS) in a remanufactured B series transmission (can't remember what year it is for, but it will be in the range of 90-93, integra). This is all in my 90 civic si with a b18.

At idle, in neutral, when I lift my foot up off the clutch, I hear a scraping noise. It comes from around the transmission area. I put the clutch in, scraping goes away.

I also hear this scraping noise when driving, whenever the clutch is let out. I put the clutch in, and the noise is gone.

What could this be?

that could be. The throwout bearing that came with the clutch was the wrong size (whatever the bearing that goes in the flywheel; i assume thats the throwout bearing unless ive been told wrong), so we replaced it with one from one of the local parts stores (probably CarQuest). It's possible it was an el cheapo or just bad out of the box...That'll be a bitch to change...

When you say input shaft bearing, are you referring to the same bearing by a different name? I guess I can't visualize it...diagrams?

**EDIT: I just found a pretty decent article on it here: http://faq.ef-honda.com/index....ng=en

Still, any other input about this? **

the bearing that goes into your flywheel should be a pilot bearing.. i would start there or it sounds like it could be throwout bearing..

The throw out bearing does not touch the clutch when the pedal is up. It starts spinning when you push the clutch.

The pilot bearing spins at the same speed when the clutch is engaged ( pedal up ) when you push the clutch down the trans stops spinning and so does the inner race on the pilot bearing.

Well a puck clutch is known for that, really depends on the noice.

A scraping/whining noise at idle is not normal .

Stop bragging about your 4 inch puck clutch

it isnt really a scraping noise but more of a whine,,,,its not like the whine when you pop it in reverse though,,,its hard to desribe,,but it makes the same whine when you put in 1st and are under 3000revs,,(thats why im thinking its chatter) at idle you can hear it then when you push the clutch in you can hear it slow down and stop,,then the second you let the clutch back up here it is again,,,,,its been running great though for almost 6 months with that same damn noise,,and i put the clutch kit in right....

So for a new input shaft bearing and seal do i use 90-91 integra ? or 90-93 integra? or any b-series tranny? Tranny is a 90 cable b16..
