Civic Ef Gearbox Problem?
Soo, lately on my civic something very wierd started happening. When changing gears sometimes I get a kick from the engine which you can feel and also hear. Besides that the other wierd thing is when taking sharp turns sometimes it seems that the steering gets stuck on something, and the steering goes to the other side by itself if I force it to keep on turning the same way a loud bang comes from gearbox side of the car and the steering is suddenly ok until the next sharp turn(not all of them). Till know people told me its something from the gearbox and I believe that. I got my knuckles out currently to change ball joints and other parts and I noticed when turning the axle by hand it sometimes seems to get stuck(I think something from the gearbox). Soon I will be changing the gearbox to another one due to gears squeek, and also gonna change the clutch cause its slipping very badly hopefully that will solve my problems, but I wanted to know what could be the cause for this.
Engine is a d15b vtec with a d13b2 gearbox connected to it. Used to work flawlessly once
Thanks for any reply, if this happend to you previously or you may know what the cause of this is, I highly appreciate any help :D Thanks.

Carefully inspect the front suspension, particularly the ball joints.

Re: Civic Ef Gearbox Problem?
@DaX Gearbox is getting replaced cause gears started whining, and @muellersfan nothing seemed to be that badly damaged in the suspension but head some torn up ball joint covers so ball joints are going to be replaces as wel as new bearings. The one thing I found wierd about my scenario was the fact that the steering was kind of getting stuck and getting thrown to one side when turning. I really cant make sense of how that was happening... Hopefully the new gearbox and new suspension parts will fix that now :D
