CEL code 0

my cel is throwing code 0 at me
thermostat ground is clean and secured.

i read somewhere on pgmfi.org that you can unjump a wire and check to see if the CEL is still on.

http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22333

^its not the same as mine, but is this possible to do with my PR3 obd1 ecu??

which wires would i need to check?

also i pulled the plates off and visually inspected the boards and nothing seemed out of place

Re: CEL code 0

Not necessarily... Regardless, it helps to search... from a previous thread still on the first page even.........

I was going to go on and on with a lengthy response but then after 5 seconds of searching I found this...

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/no-start-solid-cel-heres-what-i-did-tons-pics-2458280/

Start from the top and work your way down... I do realize this How-TO is for a '92-00 Honda but many of the steps are the same...

Here I will even repost the think...

i bookmarked that whenever you first posted it up. and ive done all the above, and still no prevail.

a buddy of mine has the guts of a p28 so i was going to see if it would get my car running, and if it runs decent, then i will make a trip to a friends shop and get a b16 ecu from him

Sounds like a good idea. Just wanted to be sure people understand a solid CEL doesn't necessarily mean its a bad ECU.

i just messed with the grounds a bit more.
changed a terminal connector on my + battery cable.

the starter definately has more "punch" but it still wont crank up.
at one point i did check for CEL codes and instead of 0. i got 20. ELD code.

so at least its showing some signs of life.
gonna tinker with it a little bit more.

i accidently had it in gear and it lurched at me about 8in. so thats a good sign.
probably gonna push start it tomorrow and see

Your car has been a grounding issue from the beginning!
If you were local I would happily stop by and replace all your grounds for free.
This thing is getting irritating!

How do you think I feel?! Lol its soo aggravating.
I also fiugred out why when I first got the car running my ckp code came on. :)

Here are the grounds I have and that I cleaned up
Trans to chassis - used one of the clutch cable bracket bolts to secure it.
Valve cover to core support

Thermostat ground has been cleaned
And I have my - terminal grounded to my shock tower but I think I'm gonna move it to the trans

He had his battery ground to the shock tower; the old saying is true - "You can't fix stupid."

Re: CEL code 0

Plug in -ANY- OBD1 ECU and turn the key to ON. (no need to try to start)
See if CEL turns off.
If CEL turns off, then your PR3 is toast.

idles fine now. and drives even better

Re: CEL code 0

If the cel stays solid when you jump the connector could that also mean you don't have any codes or does it only mean code 0?
