Car stutters a lot and drives/sounds like a Go Kart?
I just put a new cap and rotor in. That didn't fix the problem. My new spark plug wires should come tomorrow but I doubt they will solve this either.
When I first start my car it is fine. Then a minute or so after it will stutter a lot and be really slow and sound and drive like it's a Go Kart, makes a sound like it has carbs to or something. I have a theory that the distributor timing is off and when the car is first started it runs richer so its not a problem, but as it heats up then it runs leaner and that is where the problem comes from.
Is that reasonable? I have a timing light so I can test the timing, I just don't have time until tomorrow so I wanted to throw this out there and see what you guys thought about it.

No tears. Only dreams, now.

Check the coolant.... if it's got oil in it, then you might have a blown head gasket. I had that problem with mine... haha... mine just looked like a fog machine though, and it sounds like it's not the case with yours. Anyway, it sounds like you might also be runing without a cylinder.... you'll need a mechanic if it's bad, unless you like tearing an engine apart.

Mine did that and it turned out to be the wires. After the wires got hot I guess they expand and if you have a bad one....... it will run like ****.

could be o2. before the car warms up it runs without the o2 sensor and it only kicks in after about 2 minutes and after it hits a certain temp. try running with the o2 unplugged if the problem goes away or changes then its probably the o2.

Re: (91civicLX)
I'm going to check the timing. Before it ran really rich because of no PCV and got terrible gas mileage and would smoke. Now my car doesn't smoke at all and gets much better gas mileage. I also run really high 94 Octane gas so I think that makes my car more forgiving. My wires come tomorrow so maybe that it is. It cuts on and off sometimes though, like it will be slow then try and be fast but usually be slow again.

Re: (FourthGenHatch)
What I'm going to do is check the belt timing to make sure it didn't skip a tooth, cuz before when my belt timing was fucked it ran like this. Then I'm going to check the O2 connection (don't think anything is wrong with O2 because 1). Its like 5 months old and 2.) When they die cars usually run rich, not lean. My new NGK wires should arrive in the afternoon (or morning if I'm lucky). I'll check distributor timing also. And if that doesn't fix it I will get a PG7 ECU cuz maybe this one is fucked.
