Can I use a ED/EF cat for b series CA BAR
Trynna get my b20 bard, I was wondering if I can use a stock Ed/ef catalytic converter instead of having to find and buy a DA integra one. Was told the cats are the same

Do Not listen to anyone. Make an appt with a REF and ask them all the questions. I am currently attempting to BAR a 1994 GSR in my 91 Si and I need to use the Catalytic converter for the same year 1994 engine you are attempting to swap in.

This is correct. The CC needs to match the motor. OP you can try getting away with the stock one but you may be wasting your time at the ref if they fail it for not matching the motor.

Here are my notes from my Ref meeting from February, please schedule one yourself so we can compare notes:
CARB Bar’d - Notes
New Appendix E from Q4 2018 - New Rules Standards
Must use OBD1 same year or newer.
Burden of proof on you to prove where car came from.
You need to provide donor VIN from car (not receipt) to match up the engine to ensure its an OBD1 motor.
You need to use GSR wiring harness (for example), you can’t use spliced harness.
Need to place emission sticker underhood of your car from donor car. *Not a huge deal but preferred.
No longer taking JDM engines
Install a new catalytic converter:
- Can only use passenger car cats labeled with “PC1” on their PDFs below. The OBD1 list is safer to use, the OBD2 list also works but they have dual stage cats (2 cats inline) which aren’t approved):

https://ww3.arb.ca.gov/msprog/afterm...atpreobdii.pdf
https://ww3.arb.ca.gov/msprog/afterm...xemptcat09.pdf
- You can use any size cat that meets this requirement so 3” is fine but it must come from passenger car and meet the requirements of PC1.
Note here: I tried searching for a legal 3" cat and came up empty handed, if anybody knows of 1 that would be awesome to find out. - Searching for legal performance parts:

And by GSR Harness, do you mean engine harness or chassis harness?

Not sure the ref is 100% on that harness. I know several people that passed with an ECU jumper harness and a modified stock engine harness

The guy I spoke to was pretty hard core. I would imagine this is your worst case scenario but if you want to do it once and be done this is your road map. He said that they are getting much tougher as of end of 2018. He said essentially you need to take the entire engine bay from the donor car and dump it into the new car. Depending upon the ref you may get away with spliced engine bay harness, but they can fail you for that. O2 sensir orientation and distance is also evaluated.

7/18/2013 96 Integra OBD2A
3/21/2014 99 Civic OBD2B
Unknown date 95 Integra OBD1
Timothy just suck it up and buy a new cat for the engine.
