cable to hydro tranny b16
how hard is it swap a b16 hydro tranny into an ef that was a cable tranny? should i even attempt it or should i just get a new tranny?

what is involved in a conversion kit? cant i just hook the clutch cyliner to the pedal and run brake line to the tranny?

You will also need a new tranny mount. Take a look at Hasport's site, they sell a cable to hydro conversion kit.

thanks, but no thanks, i can think of a lot better things to do with 500 bucks. i think i will just modify what i have. i have 3 motors and trannies and 2 are hydro's so i will just figure something out.

well i figured it out. i just welded a plate to the ef pedal assembly and a bracket to mount the clutch cylinder on. so now my cylinder and resivoir is inside the car, but oh well it was better than paying $500 bucks for a kit and it cleans up my engine bay. post pics later.

Depending on what year you have, you know the new transmissions have just as many problems as the old ones do. And to make you understand how big the new problems are, Honda knows about the problems and if your a good enough customer worth keeping, they will fix it for free.

it works pretty damn good, to get the hose that long i just used an extra clutch line i had and spliced them together. you dont need to cut a hole that big i was going to mount it another way but it didn't work. i will do a write-up as soon as possible. but yes this way work really well and in addition you dont have to leave the bellhousing open like you have to do with the hasport kit.

That looks like one of the EARLY HaSport Conversions with the "threaded rod". I noticed that the movement of that rod would rub against the lower radiator hose in the EF's. I posted a feedback thread awhile back when the kit was first released.
It nice to see the newer kits have machined smooth rods instead of the threaded rod.
I did the same thing as what you have shown in that pic. I ended up covering up that rod with some plastic FLEX LOOM and then taping it over with black electrical tape.
I dont know if it was of my feedback, but its good to see company's like HaSport continue to improve their products after releasing them.

Sure, the conversion seems spendy, but HaSport was one of the first mass produced kits to do this when everyone else then said "oh, we are working on it...."
I must have nagged HaSport over and over and I waited impatiently as the release date kept being pushed back. But I tell ya, I was so happy to receive that phone call from JOE when the kit was 1st finalized and released.
That kit is still in my daily driven street legal CRX that runs low 12's at the dragstrip and sees many HPDE's at Brainerd Intl. Speedway, DCTC, and this year MidAmerica.

yes handcommand i agree it's not a good thing to cut up your car like that, but as i said i tried something else first that didn't work. all you have to do for this conversion is drill a hole for the line 1/2 " that is all. please dont hack up your car like i did.

was this for me? if so i'm using the eg mounts i cut the old chassis brackets off and re-welded them on the ef. for the rear one i fabricated my own chassis mount, and the right on the ef i just widened it out so the eg engine mount would fit.
