90 ef need a new ignition switch housing
I'm in search of a new ignition switch housing . The one I have was broken off. Is there any difference between an auto and manual ? I have the manual 4 spd. The connectors are 2 plugs one with 5 spades and the other with 4. Any ideas? I don't wana spend almost 300 bucks on an autoparts one .

Are you talking about the lock cylinder on the column or are you talking about the electrical portion that bolts to the back of the switch?
My car is a 90 Sedan and was originally auto. I replaced all the lock cylinders (including the one on the column) from another EF that I found in the junk yard - I think it was a 5-speed 88-89. The auto lock cylinder will have the additional solenoid on it to prevent the key from being removed if the car is not in park. You can defeat/remove this though. The face of the lock cylinder from the 88-89 car does not sit flush with the hole in the plastic column cover - it is recessed about 1/4". It doesn't bother me and it functions the same, but be aware if you try pulling a lock cylinder from a junk yard.
