right brake light does not light up when brake pedal is pressed
Ok so the bulb is not burnt out because it works when I put on the hazards and the night lights. So i am thinking its has to be electrical but everything else works so that is why I am puzzled. Thoughts please!
Btw this is about a 2002 Honda Civic lx.

Re: Brake lights stay on...how I fixed them
Thanks 97SS for your write-up. It’s now November of 2019 and your post got me started. You photos were no longer available but I was able from your description to find a YouTube video at Honda-Tech.com which showed me the part and how to resolve it. I went out to the car and sure enough I found the pointed top to the Brake Light Switch Stopper. A friend told me to get the part and he’d install it. I’m going to call the dealership in the morning and see if they have the part for purchase. I also disconnected the battery until I could get this resolved. Hoping that will be tomorrow sometime!
By the way, I own a 2007 Moroccan Red Pearl Honda Accord SE with less than 73K miles on it. (While I worked, I traveled long distance so that saved mileage on my vehicle because I flew out and did the rental car scenario.). Love my HOT Red Honda!
Just wanted to say thanks as the mechanic down the street told me to bring the car in and it would take 2 hours to fix and cost $60 to $80! He just did a brake job for me 2 months ago. Guess they don’t check this part! Anyway I won’t be having him do this job!
Thanks again!
Judy

My one penny WELL SPENT on my Acura MDX 2005 ! LOL ! works pretty good. 205000 miles and still strong ! I was panic last night until I see this solution today and fix it in 2 minutes. Damn. Why can't they use some metal and use plastic instead.
