Brake Booster Pin Pivot Removal after the fact
Searched, read through 8 pages of threads on brake boosters and can't find this exact answer.
Replacing the brake booster on my 90 Civic STD. Already got the 4 nuts of doom and the pivot pin removed but can't get the pivot removed from the booster. I can't remove it from the engine bay because the pivot is hanging up on the opening. It would be a simple removal except for that one issue. I'm really confused by this. I've never had this issue on my other cars but I am new to Hondas.
Yes, I have removed my master cylinder.
Yes, I have removed every hose and line I can see in the way.
No, I don't know what else to do. I have really fat hands and arms and probably should stick to working on large V8 trucks where I can sit in the engine compartment and work on the vehicle.

Yes, 13 is removed and sitting in my little parts thing. #2 is hanging up in the opening. I've twisted, turned and cursed at the whole thing with no effect. I've jammed a long screwdriver in it in an attempt to compress it enough to remove.
I can't get a wrench on to hold the shaft so I can try to loosen the star lock nut. I may put the sawzall onto the shaft and remove it like that. It's only a $20 core charge.
Thank you.

It's been a while since I have did a booster swap, but I think #16 is a jam nut.
Maybe hold onto that with a wrench and then twist #2.

Re: Brake Booster Pin Pivot Removal after the fact
The pivot thing was assembled with Loc-tite Red... had to put it in the bench vise to remove it.
In case anyone wants to know my solution to this problem.
I used a small pry-bar to take the booster apart, pull the halves out then reassembled for my core charge.

Nice info, thanks for actually following up on your thread and posting the solution to your problem. I will be removing my booster soon and replacing it as well, hopefully mine will be a little less painful.

I don't think it was originally assembled with loc-tite because this is a part made to be adjusted and it is fixed with the pivot pin and cotter pin and the loc-tite was slathered all over the place.
