bolting tranny to motor...
 

well im trying to bolt my tranny back to the motor and its just not going smoothly.
Well i replaced my d15b2 with a new one and now im trying to bolts it back together while in the engine bay( ya i know the hard way) but i had no hoist so me and my friend just picked it up and set it in there.

now im tryint to get it bolted in but theres just enough gap that the bolts wont start in the holes in the motor.

So does anyone know of a good way to inch the motor closer to the tranny?

or if anyone in the Merritt Island area have a hoist i could borrow for a day that would most likly help https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

push it under a tree and use a chain

Try using a jack to reposition the tranny closer to the motor. With two people it shouldn't be that hard.

It's just a d-series, so at least it isn't that heavy. Try doing the same thing with a B16A tranny. Anyways, the key is to lift it up and line up the input shaft so that the clutch splines and the shaft slide together. You could use some antiseize to help lubricate it. Once the input shaft is in the clutch you will have no problems bolting it on. Just be sure to not rest the shaft on the clutch! It will throw the clutch disc out of alignment.

If the bolts don't catch the threads, then that means the splines are NOT lined up correctly with the clutch disc.
