you've done all the normal stuff, checked spark, fuel etc...

have you checked the valve lashings?

time to get a buddy over there for help. for spark pull a plug wire and spark plug out and have a buddy crank while you hold it to a ground. Should arc. As for fuel loosen up the 17mm bolt on the fuel line and have a friend turn the key to start postion to see if fuel comes out.

ok i just checked for spark, what i did was i pulled the number 4 plug and put it in the plug wire, set it on the VC and cranked it.......there was spark

i do smell gas....perhaps there is a leak?

Is your timing correct?

Re: block swap complete.....now no start (temp)

ok so i just went and loosened teh 12mm bolt on the fuel filter and fuel came out (i didnt crank it).....so i am stumped? if the block had low compression would it still start?

Re: block swap complete.....now no start (temp)

Deends how low you are talking about. You need compression or the fuel won't explode when it's ignited.

ok and how about the clutch.....i am pretty sure it was installed properly but still.......if the clutch/flywheel werent done right that could cause an issue too right?

Re: block swap complete.....now no start (temp)

ok.....perhaps i was wrong, i dont think i am getting any spark, should it arc between the plug element and the little "L" at the end of the plug?

Just set it on the rad support and see if a spark happens. Try one at a time.

Re: block swap complete.....now no start (I3ackfire)

well it started, it was t3h distributor it wasnt flushed all the way (IIIIIDDDDIIIIOOOOTTTT) anyways.......now i have a new problem, the oil light is staying on even though the oil is full (it turns off sometimes when you rev it, it will turn off for a bit then it will come back on).......which leads me to believe 1 of the following, bad oil pump or bad sensor.....anything else it could be?
