Beanhead's ef hatch Build
Hey guys. New member here. Just picked up this car for a STEAL! It's a 91 Dx hatch. Old man owned and mechanically sound! The car is has ONE surface rust spot. Nothing sand paper and matching paint can't fix lol. I'm only 19 working a part time job and going to school full time so while I'm off this summer, I will work my a** off to come with mass amounts of funds lol. I'm looking for a reliable daily as well as stance build. Need some suggestions on suspension and many things so sit back and please enjoy.
Went to autozone and picked up basic maintenance parts.
-VC Gasket
-Fuel Filter
-Plugs
-Wires
Also picked up some ek seats from 97 civic coupe
Also have some SI rear seats from my previous ef SI. I will throw these when I go with the full SI interior conversion

Definitely ready to build this thing. Stay tuned

So after selling this car (Pictured above) in September of 2015, I always had a void that I needed to fill. No other car would fill this void unless it was an ef. So in November of 2016, I bought another white hatch that was in desperate need of love & care. Ultimately, that white hatchback turned into this which I now drive daily and would never get rid of under any circumstances. (Learned that with the last hatchback getting away. Soon, I will end up putting a time lapse of any pictures i can find of how this car got to where it is today.

Car looks really clean and solid. I'm a sucker for white EF hatches. How much did you pick it up for if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks man. My white SI hatch actually got stolen so I made a vow that I would pick up another white hatch. The guy was asking $1600. I left with this car for $1200

Nice find, you should start tearing up the suspension. LCA bushings, RTA bushings, ball joints, outer tie rods, crossmember bushings, etc.

Re: Beanhead's ef hatch Build
One thing I learned with my ef. When you remove bolts and bushings. Replace them. They are often so old that they snap even when going on. Clean hatch though. As for suspension I hear GC/Koni is best. But for mine I'm getting tokico/GC setup. A little easier on the pockets.

I will definitely take that into consideration . Thank you!

Re: Beanhead's ef hatch Build
You may want to look into Progress CSII coilovers. They are not too expensive, and in my opinion, are a solid performer on my EF.
I have them setup as high as they go(~1" drop from stock)and they offer a smooth but sporty ride with the 450F/350R spring ratios I chose. However, keep in mind that they might not run very well at all if you're just going to drop them all the way, most suspension setups will not give you great ride quality or performance at an extremely low ride height.

Re: Beanhead's ef hatch Build
Okay so after about a month's time, I have some updates. I purchased some 14" si steelies and hubcaps, all clear corner lights, & a cheap eBay hub and wheel combo. I'm quite surprised with the the steering wheel combo. Very good investment for the price. I've decided to go with function and form coil overs so the saving begins.

Looks good, Nice white EF! Good luck cleaning the engine bay, my hood underside is just as bad and I have no idea how to get it clean. Some simple green type degreaser has helped on the rest of the engine bay but its still grungy.

Re: Beanhead's ef hatch Build
I'm interested to see the updates! Anytime you are cleaning an engine bay I always recommend a foam spray bath and then some soaking with Simple green. Simple Green has been a life saver on so many rebuild projects.
