For racing (drag) you need an NHRA approved box, regardless of whether or not it is a sealed battery. I relocated mine behind the passenger seat, just a hair in front of my crossbar for the roll bar. I put it there because it will most offset my weight, plus it is as low in the car as you can get.

I failed tech inspection last friday so I moved mine to the front, really low behind the radiator and passed tech last night.
Before and yes this is my car.

Now

I made my own mount. Didn't want to wait on the odyssey one to show up late. Plus I already had the material here.

Don't mind the OCC spider box as it was cheap and made for this battery.

Allows me much more room in the engine bay to run 3 inch charge piping as well as more room for air to flow and cooler underhood temps.

As you can see we had to trim of the bumper support but it was well worth the effort.

The battery distribution was temporary till I got home from my welders house.

0 holes had to be drilled. I used the lower bolt hole for the original battery tray and a random hole that was almost level with the first hole. All I did was tap it. I installed all this with the motor in the car. I have a ton of room between the battery and the transmission.

Moroso box, which is huge for our stock sized batteries. If it is relocated into teh vehicle most drag strips will require a cut off switch at the rear of the vehicle as well

I didn't like any of the battery boxes I found for sale, So I made my own.

I wrote how I made it on my site. Check it out: How To: Automotive - How I make my own car battery box with tie down.

And you also bumped two 7-10 year old threads for your half *** fabricated battery "box".

@RonJ Lock it down.
