Default CRX exterior locks question

ok so, i heard from a person at my work today that he has a key that opens at honda 98 and earlier. now this poses a problem to me becuase of these couple of facts.

i was going to switch out exterior rear 4door handles for my crx handles to make mine car keyless. by many people i was told that it would be a stupid idea to shave the rear trunk hole also becuase if i happened to get a dead battery im screwed lol, i also agree with that.

but the biggest problem is this! ok so say i do the switch of handles. they can still open my trunk up and BAM! there is my sub lying right there and its very ez for them to grab. so crap wtf am i supposed to do?

one more note i heard for a jdm 91 civic si owner that worked at best buy he did a key and starter swap with a "chipped" newer year civic. like a 2000+ model.

is it possible to swap the car key in the steering column AND! to swap the trunk key also? i would luv to do this... but im just not sure if its possible.

ty in advance!

Sedan door handles, shaved trunk key hole, and one of those manual hood-popper deals. (Like in Gone in 60 Seconds) If they want your car they are going to get it, you'll just slow them down at best though.

if that key really exists they dont need it to get in your car in under 60 seconds. I dont think it would do much to swap handles or locks,

Sedan rear handles don't have keyholes. =P You put them on the front to have shaved keyholes without paying hundreds

what about adding a couple of kill switches.... if all they jack is your system then i would say it sucks but at least your car would still be there. if they want to break in they will there is no stopping them regardless if you switch keyholes or get rid of them all together.

@taking my battery with me to class: lol... nt.
@crx sleeper: yea i know that i could add a killswitch the problem isnt my car will be stolen cuz my car has a kill switch on it already actually. but the question is now, has anyone swapped trunk key sets with newer ones so master keys dont work on the trunk? that is what i want to know most.

here ill repeat it again. i have no keyholes on my car doors, ez. i just want to know if anyone has ever switched an ef rear trunk (ignition) with a newer version. anyone? @@

the whole crx key issue is funny........ if you have an older honda most newer honda keys will open up the door.......in my experience with crx's any key opens the door and starts the car........the reason for that is because of the your car being so old that the tumblers in the lock are worn down...... if you grab a friends stock honda key thats used and jiggle it around eventually it will unlock the door and ignition, one way for you to be safe with your car is to turn your steering wheel to the lock position with that being done any honda key will not start the car, but if a thief really wants your car all he has to do is break the steering wheel lock and try the key again..... your best bet is to try and make it harder for the person to steal it as for your system try and make a bracket to bolt it down so they have to unbolt it...... most thieves panic when it takes too long to come up

I would get a good quality alarm with a pager, the one that beeps you if the alarm goes off. The school should understand since your car has been broken into before if you have to bolt out.
