Re: b16 timing specs (jweeks)
warm up the car until fan comes on. turn it off and jumper the connector (blue?) under the passenger side (near HVAC blower and ecu). start it up and check the pointer at the pulley. timing light goes on number one (closest cylinder to pulleys).
spec is 15 degrees BTDC (RED mark) plus or minus 2. if you have a stock pulley and don't see red and white marks, try cleaning the edge with degreaser and an old tooth brush. adjust timing by turning the distributor (loosening the 3 mounting bolts). keep in mind that the timing belt may be off a tooth if you've noticed a sudden change. good luck https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif |
