anyone tried one of the ground wire kits?

seen those ground wire kits. that make a central ground, is it worth the trouble. would i be better off just replacing the ground wires i have with better 4 gauge?

i got a kit,its a rip-off tho you can create your own kit for like 20 bucks..

Making your own isnt the same though. I heard that Hyper Ground have really good kits!

ya i got the hyper ground, its good stuff, just expensive and you can get your own good quality wire and create the same thing,i have done that for friends and it works the same

LOL How is it not the same? Wire + Metal Brackets + Screws. It may not look as cool but if you've got the ingenuity (sp?) and the shit lying around I would call you stupid if you didn't make your own. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

is there anything to making the ground centralized. sounds stupid to me. a good ground is a good ground right?

Not really but sorta kinda. A lot of ground kits run everything to one centered metal pillar that would attach to a part of the chassis that has been totally sanded to create a bare metal surface (less resistance). I assume if you use good wire (I'm using 8gauge) and run to seperate ground pounts (making sure all of them are free of paint and sanded to bare metal) it would do the same thing.

All grounds are grounded centrally... to the chassis. http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

I got the spoon sports earth ground kit

and well it was only 4 grounds to new location and replaces two old ones with cool new spoon wrapped wires

Wow!!!

my ass it was a rip off but I guess for show it is coo

but for performance it sucks

it is like adding msd doesn't really gain hp this response to throttle u know

I made my own out of 4 guage ground kits from work already had ends on them. Was free.... SO the Price to perfomance didn't put me in the whole.

Re-doing your grounds does do very little for performance. It is more of a reliability mod.

On cars as old as EF's or other cars were the wiring gets corroded redoing ground wires is a good idea. Redoing your grounds will prevent possible problems with the electrical systems. If your car has bad grounds or frayed wiring, the likelyhood of blowing fuses increases.

EDIT: IN most cases improving the grounds on your car may help get rid of some problems with hesitation.
