Default Rough Idle

I know that a million things can cause a rough idle from vaccum lines to the TPS and such but I dont think my engine is causing the trouble.

My shocks are shot (my Illuminas are in the mail). One bolt on every Hasport mount are rusted. Dose this have anything to do with the idle? Seems like the engines fine.

Yea the engine idles at 1500. Seems like this combined with the shocks is making my chassis rattle.

believe it or not, mounts do affect idle but i dont think in this case try your idle adjustement screw on the throttle body its a flathead screw the reason why your "chassis" is rattling is bc its so high causing vibration it should be about half of what it is (650-700)

I fixed the idle by replacing the IVAC. The shaking of the car was to to dead shocks.

But why. What factors make your idle change do to mounts????

i seriously dont think it does effect idle at all. i really want to know how it does. i just dont see how a bad (vibrating) mount can change your engine from idleing at 700 to say 400-500????

that doesnt explain anything Honda CRX so could you explain more. that just states that mounts do effect the idle. I want to know why? I seriously dont see how it could. Anyone know?????

I dunno what the other guy said but my chassis rattle was due to bad front shocks. My car went from the really annoying to unnoticable. The idle had nothing to do with that. It might have done down 100 rpms after the install but that was probably due to a loose sensor wire.
