91 crx hf main harness into 89 crx hf
i have an 89 crx hf with a recently bought 91 crx hf main harness after plugging everything in i had my dash harness plug left and also a 19 pin connector from the main harness . the plugs dont match obviously and the 91 has more wires than the 89 dash harness . i did repinned the plug since most wires were the same except there was about 5 extra wires . i cant find the hazzard switch plug on the 91 main harness . is it on the 91 dash harness or where is it ? i also notice my rpm dont work neither gas level or engine temp now with these 91 main harness. i had a 89 main harness with engine harness but i was having a code 4 limp mode and couldnt figure it out so decided to start from scratch but this 91 main harness is way different

Your hazard circuit and dimmer circuits are drastically different between the two years. On prefacelift the hazard switch is wired near the steering column, and the dimmer is controlled within the dimmer switch itself. On facelift models the hazard switch is on a button by the cluster and the dimmer switch is separate to the dimmer which is located as a separate part attached to the steering column.
Both of those circuits are not particularly easy to rewire. Do you have wiring diagrams for both years? I recently did this in my sedan and just went wire by wire referencing wiring diagrams.
For the other functions, just use a multimeter set to continuity to confirm which wire does what at your dash plug, and then confirm they're tracing to the correct spot on the cluster.

Re: 91 crx hf main harness into 89 crx hf
Thanks for the info . I figured that it's kinda complicated . I either gonna try to find an 89 harness or try to rebuild the old 89 I had and actually just use the wires for what I'm running now. thank you.
although I wish I could buy an essential racing chassis harness but it's kinda pricey
