91 civic eld code 20 burnt up my alternator
hello guys i got a 91 civic with a f22 swap in it...anyways its throwing the electric load detection code and my alternator burnt up..the car is running rough and im not sure weather cus its getting to much volts or what but it fried up the alternator pretty good... the car only had 2 grounds hooked up. im stumped...anybody got any ideas?

.... hook up the proper grounds, replace eld and replace alternator, then see if it still runs like crap. why were you driving it throwing the eld code? you should have fixed that right away. if your alternator was bad and spiking voltage you could fry all the electronics in your car

never drove the car...infact the car is still on jackstands...we just started the car and let it run..gotta fix the bugs before we put it back on the ground. thanks for the info. where is the eld located at?

I have a 91 Civic LX 1.5 and its throwing me a Code 20 on the ECU as well. The symptoms are the car will start and idle fine but if i try to use anything electrical (headlights, auto windows, ac fan) the engine will run roughly and die. Also the Instrument cluster will malfunction such as the tach guage will spike to zero and the water temp gauge (which never worked) will spike all the way up. All the electrical parts are starving for power if i try to use them. Recently put in a new negative power cable and positive battery terminal. Can anyone help? I cant find any help on google at all!
