Default 90 CRX_B18C1 GS-R swap in progress

I got my CRX at the beginning of this year. It had a d16y7 swap that wasn't quite running right. Needed new motor mounts and some other maintenance. I drove it for the summer while looking for a swap. Read up on swaps for this chassis and found that the B18 GSR is one of the tightest fits. But it is done often. So in August, I found one on craigslist. Not a bad price either. 80k miles on it. 5k since rebuild.

Modifications:
Thermal Research and Development full 2.5" stainless exhaust
B18C1 GS-R
R1 Racing header
Skunk2 stage 2 cams
Skunk2 composite fuel rail
310cc RC injectors
AEM adjustable cam gears
Blox Racing cam seal
high flow billet fuel filter
ported and polished head
ported and polished intake manifold
bored throttle body(paper thin)
XTD cluth and (12lb flywheel for better launch)
p28 ecu w/Hondata S200
Hasport Billet mounts
and the GS-R 5speed tranny

This engine supposedly has 188hp at the wheels. So, I'm just now starting on this swap. Rounding up parts. I got the Hasport mounts w/hydrolic tranny conversion, new shift likage, obd0-obd1 conversion pig tail, integra axles. I think I'm ready. Probly have to get some other stuff as I go. I'll have plenty of wiring to do as I go too. I'm doin a wire tuck too. I'm doin body work and painting the whole car at the same time. Engine compartment too.

The car has a Wings West body kit
TenzoR 17" wheels 205 40 17
and Tokico Illumina adjustable 5s
Looks good, just needs paint.

Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions! I'll try to post some pics soon.
This is my first honda and my first engine swap. I've loved CRX's since I was in elementary school! Love em!

Power to the Rex's

Im doing this same swap in my 90 EF. My B18 is out of a 94 GSR so i think its obd 2, but my cousins buddys are gonna wire it all up for me for 150 bux. But were converting it to OBD-1 first. Let me know where ur getting ur info for your swap. Im still not clear on what im gonna o about my axles and hubs since mine is a 90 STD. anyone that has a clear answer shoot me a pm

Sounds like a great start. I would go with a different set of wheels though, something 15".

Edit: A '94 is OBD1. You might have fitment issues if you choose to use the factory GSR intake manifold. You can use the GSR axles and intermediate shaft on a EF chassis, but you will need change the front hubs to those from a DX or SI.

The engine is in now. I'm at the wirinig stage. I'm having trouble finding sensor clips being that I didn't get a harness for the GS-R when I bought the engine. So, does anyone have any clips laying around? Or do you know where I could get some? Here's a list and some really bad quality pics of what I need....
Distributor clip....

o2 sensor clip

Transmission sensor

I also need the harness clip for the IAC and the Evap Purge Control Solenoid Sensor.
This engine is from a '96 GS-R. obd2, I believe......
So, if you have any of these clips laying around and would like to help a guy out, feel free to let me know. Or if you have any suggestions on where I could get something to work, please let me know.
In the meantime, here's some pics of the build..........

The old d16y7 is out.

The GS-R ready to go in.

Gettin ready to paint the engine bay.

Bay is painted.

Can you say picker?

Goin in.

It's in.

So, there's my build.....So far...
Let me know what you think.

Yeah, '94 is obd1. I used the '96 Teg axles. Worked good. No fitment problems. You do have to have the DX or SI hubs. My CRX is a SI, so I didn't have to change over. I got some of my info from the Honda Swap Book written by Aaron Bonk. You can find it at your local auto parts store for bout $20. It's a red book. The other info I get is on crxcommunity.com. Great forum. Lots of help. I'm kinda wondering if you have the GS-R's wiring harness. If you don't, I'm thinkin you might have problems finding the sensor clips for it. That's the prob I'm having.

The distributor you have looks like a OBD2b one from a civic SI with a B16. You might have trouble finding that connector. This distributor also does not have the tachometer output wire on the connector. I would use a different distributor all together. The rest of the connectors can be found at the junkyard, just walk around a cut off the ones you need. They don't necessarily have to be from the same component, just the same connector.

EDIT: with the weather you guys are having you are going to have a hell of a time at the junkyard

I've started my wiring. I got all the connectors I was needing. I'm guessing the 96 model GS-R had 2 02 sensors. One in the front and one towards the back. I'm not sure though. I decided to just screw the o2 from the old d16y7 in so I wouldn't have to wire in the 4 wire 02 from the b18. It was the 02 on the header just before the test pipe. My CRX harness had the one wire 02, so it made sence to me to just screw that one in. I ran the injector wires under the intake manifold and popped them up through the larger holes in the im by the fuel rail. Looks pretty clean. It's all in wire loom.
I also put the throttle cable and clutch cables on. The throttle cable was a 94-01 GS-R. The clutch cable was a 90-93 Integra. They worked good.

That's the latest on my swap. Hopin to get more done this week before I leave for vacation for the New Year's weekend.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The chain, I got from a farm and ranch store. I thought it was pretty bling too. Made for some pretty sweet install pics. hahaha
I believe the valves and valve springs are stock. Not sure though. I’d have to ask the dude I bought the engine from. He put the cams in. Why do you ask? I do know I should up the compretion to work better along with the cams. I do know the head and intake manifold have been ported and polished, which also usually necessatate higher compretion. But I don’t really want to dig into building the engine right now. I wanna get it runnin first.

The ecu I'll be running is a p28 mated w/the Hondata S200.
This setup was running in a 96 Teg.

I also have a question........My old engine was a d16y7. What are the two sensors under the distributor on the block? The B18 has the sensors in the same location. I need to know what these are please.....

the reason you need different valve springs is because stock ones with a stage 2 cam allows for floating valves, which is bad and something is defiantly going to prematurely wear down

Check out the shift boot I made.

I had it in the car till I did the engine swap. Will go right back in. It's pretty sweet.
