Default axle problem few Qs here need to know ASAP PLZZZ

ok jus the run down...

91 crx hf with a d16y8 and a 91 crx si tranny

i got the 91 basic crx axle and the problem im having is when i put the axle in the tranny its not locking in place just pulls right out... it dose have the clip on the axle and its space fine..
Q 1..WHATS MY PROBLEM?!?!?!?!?!?! and

... if i leave it the way it is and put the spline through the spindle and screw on the axle nut it just pulls the axle out of the tranny even when its not locking in place..
(as if the axle is too short)..friend of mine said for me to get 92-95 driver axle
Q 2..DO I GOT THE WRONG AXLE?!?!?!?!

iv tryd the si, hf axles and either the tranny spline or the spindle spline was to fat or skinny...

hope you guys under stand what problems im having

If you have an HF then you need to use the HF axles to work with your hubs. IIRC the hubs have a different spline count than the Si/Dx.
So, your stock axles should be the one you use.

That circlip has got to click into place of that axles will fall out over and over. My only guess is that you aren't pushing it in far enough for it to click in?!?!

The service manual just says to slide it into the tranny until you feel teh sping clip engage the side gear. Maybe look into the side gear and see if something is going on in there before you put in the axle again?

I just did my driver side axle on my 91 hatch in 0 degree weather last Friday. I didn't hear any click, but you can definately tell when the axle is locked into the tranny as you can't pull it out by grabbing the housing of the axle closest to the tranny. It took three tries to get it to lock into the tranny. Some people also put the axle in the the hub, then push the hub in to lock it into place.

I always got it started then used the axle itselfand the play in the boot to seat it (grab the shaft and pull it back a bit and shove forward) never had a problem that way and is how I was taught

I would do the following:

1). take measurements of both the old and new axle.

2). take a look at the spring clip on the new axle, it sounds like it may be defective or not seated and therefore not engaging. You could try the clip from the old axle to see if that is the problem.
