usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
ill make a build thread later...but for now, i need some help...
converting my 89 civic ef from usdm to jdm....
i have all the jdm wiring, from engine, all the way to the tail lights...
except, i have a couple of questions...
these three plugs, anyone know where they go? its the one with the green plug. they are near the ecu....theyre not the ecu....cuz the ecu plugs are next to it...
what about the fuel pump.....the usdm fuel pump has 4 wires...where as the jdm wiring has 5....any idea?

pretty sure the jdm's had nice fancy climate control and crap like the new ones do now. good chance that's it and the fuel pumps might be different in japan, might have to cut the plug and put the 4wire plug on it to run the us pump or buy a jdm pump.

but the plugs arent for the climate control, since they are located at the passenger foot area. the climate control plugs are more to the center.
as far as the fuel pump wiring....i know i have to reduce it from 5 (jdm) to 4 (usdm), but im not sure which cable im going to have to leave out....
anyone have an idea of what cable does what?
thank you all for your input

the rhd clip was from a 91 SiR, and yes, it did have Auto Climate Control (fancy), and rear fog light wiring....

Re: usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
so I'm guessing the LS fuel sending unit/fuel pump will be a direct fit into the ef gas tank?

i honestly cant tell you for sure but it is likely, as far as i know the fuel systems are pretty much the same, never seen anyone have to upgrade fuel systems to run a B-swap

Re: usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
i swapped a b series into a sohc ek....didnt have to change the fuel pump....
i guess im just gonna have to figure out if one of the wires is for the fuel light and cancel it....
or look into the LS fuel sending unit and see if it does have 5 wires....
crx_si-r
can you confirm the 5th wire function, or is it just a hunch?
ill try to take a pic asap....

Re: usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
my hatch is an 89, thus it had the 89 cluster....and the rhd clip is from a 91...so im gonna go w/ a 91 cluster (jdm cluster) since all the wiring is there.....
thus i dont know if its true or not on the low fuel light...

Re: usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
jdm clusters have a low fuel light. thus th 5th wire
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
the fuel systems are the same, but the actual sending unit itself is slightly different. you can wire up the low fuel light or just leave it alone. lil hard to tell but its right there below the E on the fuel gauge

now, does the integra fuel sending unit come with a 5th extra wire? I'd like to take advantage of the low fuel option

Found this on the internets.
Climate control stuff.
Could it be that you just have them routed wrong?
Maybe they don't belong over in the passenger area like you have them in the picture.

ok, here is the wiring to the fuel sending unit.....
looks like the green/red wire is the one for the low fuel...
i will look into the DA9 fuel sending unit to see if the DA9 has that extra wire for the low fuel. if not, i guess i'll leave it out :/

Re: usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
Found this on the internets...
"The Tach went to the left side, speedometer in the middle, and gas and water temp to the right with a door-ajar display and fuel-low warning light. The door ajar told you if the hatch, passenger and drivers doors were open. It read much like a US preludes would. And the fuel-low level warning light was the same as a US 90-93 integra."

Re: usdm to jdm ef.....wiring Q´s
I tried my searching. It had to have been 7+ years ago when I knew of a build page from hyprids.jp where somebody put in the sending unit.
I can't find it anymore =/
What I can tell you is the DA unit it too big.
Maybe call an importer and see if they have a JDM unit?
