Default 88 d16a6 rebuild almost there

hey ya'll

Alright I've finally wrapped up my rebuild for my 88 crx, but i can't get it to start. just keeps crankin'
pretty straight forward.

Checked for spark
checked for fuel pressure
Checked all grounds
Valve lash set according to FSM checked all cylinders twice
Compression test was about 100 on all cylinders, used a friends but forgot to open throttle for the test so i think it might be higher, i will check again asap.
head was milled and hot tanked, block was cleaned.
STD acl bearings
STD piston rings, clocked according to FSM, lightly oiled when inserting.
Cylinder walls honed.
lapped valves with coarse and fine compound.
Mechanical timing for cam set to mark on plastic guide
Mechanical timing for crank set to single mark at tdc NOT any of the three for ignition timing.
tried starting with dizzy advanced and retarded
dizzy keyed so it can only go one way into cam
can't find any vacuum leaks.

i did pull a wire on the fast idle solenoid located on my manifold that lets air in when temp is below a certain temperature, but i can't imagine that would prevent it from starting, either way, i will order a new one soon.

I did the rebuild to clear up some smoke from worn rings and valve seals, and i kept the block in the bay. compression was 140 180 140 and 120 before rebuild.

the consistency of compression between cylinders makes me think that they maybe are not the problem here, but that's the only thing i can think of.

lastly, when turning it over there are no wild noises, sometimes it sounds like it might want to start, but just barely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd guess your problem may be due to the fact that you have even lower compression after you had rebuilt it. Minimum spec I believe is 140psi. With that said though, I believe you're supposed to do the test with the engine warm so hopefully it's a non issue. Have you verified that your firing order is correct? Visually verified that the rotor is in fact starting at #1 with everything at TDC?

Rechecked everything, adjusted timing and dizzy and got it started. It will stay running if i give it throttle but dies if i stop. Throws CEL 14 (fiscv) which is to be expected. There's one on ebay for about 40 bucks, but i'd like to see if i could repair mine. Is it possible to solder new leads on the base of the plastic cap the two wires for the fiscv on my manifold goes to?
