Where did you get the tripper? Cost? And how much did you use? I bought a can of the spray stripper. It took 3 tries (Due to multiple coats of paint) to get it all off my valve cover, but I can't complain for $5 or so. Just wondering how the higher grade stuff works.

I used the paint stripper plus the 'jet' setting on my lawn hose and it got just about everything off the valve cover. I see the brushes that I assume you used, how long did it take you?

Brushes were to get the tougher paint left after I sprayed with water. I wanted all the paint off.

i would disagree

Straight line = fast car / circuit track = fast driver. It all depends what I can do with it all motor first and maybe I won't even go FI at all and just keep her all motor and run her that way.
i don't understand your rational. You're basically going to have to relearn your car all over again on the track. Yeah you'll learn the limits of your car being slow, but once you add more power, you'll reach your limits faster and have to relearn everything again. With a properly sized turbo, power delivery can be almost as predictable as a NA car. How much power are you trying to run at the track? Personally, would have skipped the NA build and went straight to turbo. Best way to learn your car, NA or FI, is to drive it. Do a couple auto-x's to get a feel, then hit the track. At least that's what I did.

I havent officially come to the conclusion if im ever going to FI my car at all. My thought is that Ill learn how my car drives "Slower than FI" so i have a better chance of steering away from walls or dirt instead of 500WHP into walls destroying my build in minutes. Thing is if i dont feel like the car will handle better in and out of boost constantly braking and accelerating im not going FI but will remain in the steady track speed and my handling will always be SURE! This article came out this past month or so and after i read it it seems im not the only one who thinks this way.

After looking at your numbers on your car it seems to me we have a big difference on what boosting a car is. Id much rather boost a car out of limits of all motor capabilities. yes i COULD throw my turbo setup on right now and be well within if not over your numbers BUT those are too low for me on a boost build NO OFFENSE but without sleeves and extensive tuning id be at risk of horrible longevity. this is a distance run for me not a weekend fling. So again ill run all motor for a few years get my feet wet and if when i do decide to step it up a notch (which i doubt) ill piece together a well designed engine by me.

Turbo is a turbo. I could have gone bigger, like your "500WHP", but there is no driveability there in a FWD car. It's about how much usable power the car has. More power just means a higher learning curve. My car was built with the track in mind. Stock engine so that if I threw a rod or whatever, replace the engine and keep moving, and a quick spooling turbo. Even around 400hp, a "properly sized" turbo will work. But we do have differing opinions in regards to boosting on the track.

So you agree my setup as stated on my build sheet page 1 will be harder to drive... My whole argument was argued for me. Thanks for understanding.

Got the crank in and mains w/girdle last night. Should still be getting this bottom end worked on but someone got empty plasti-gauge from Oriellys last night! I'm going to have some words with the guy who told me it was in there because he checked. A$$ Hole fudged up my night!

ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I LAST POSTED ABOUT MY BUILD BUT IVE GRADUATED SCHOOL AND MOVED INTO MY NEW HOUSE. IVE COME TO A STAND STILL BECAUSE OF MY WIRING HARNESS ISSUES. THE CHASSIS HARNESS WAS CUT SEVERAL TIMES AND WILL EITHER MAKE CUSTOM HARNESS OR FIND ORIGINAL UNCUT HARNESS.
