I look for the p73 cast marks but they aren't there. Why do these pistons look so weird? Oh wait they're not OEM at all!!! Custom cunningham I beam rods w/arias high compression pistons!!! Looks like its coming along nicely!

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Yes it has. I started about 6 months ago and I'm moving nonstop with this dream build of mine. I'm taking my time though and making sure no steps are cut short... Do it right the first time!

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Its nice to see some some quality performance parts! Good luck on the wiring

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Thanks appreciate that

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
I've decided to start this build going all motor and after I feel comfortable in circuit I'll go ahead and move to boost!
|
Re: 88 CRX BUILD
RIGHT NOW IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO RETAIN ALL MY FORCED INDUCTION PARTS AND CONVERT BACK TO ALL MOTOR. IM SWAPPING OUT MY CP PISTONS FOR HIGH COMPRESSION ARIAS PISTONS. LOOKING TO GET MY DISHED VALVES SWITCHED FOR FLAT VALVES FROM MY LOCAL SHOP REVLINE IN KANSAS CITY. IM GOING TO FIND A SPARE BLOCK SINCE I JUST TRADED MY BARE BLOCK TO A BUDDY SO I CAN TAKE MY TIME SENDING OUT THE BLOCK TO GOLDEN EAGLE FOR SLEEVING. I THINK THAT STARTING OFF ALL MOTOR VS BOOSTING WILL HELP ME TRANSITION AROUND THE CIRCUIT TRACK GETTING THE BEST FEEL FOR THE CRX SUSPENSION WITHOUT OVER POWERING AND POSSIBLY LOSING CONTROL OF MY HANDLING. WHEN I FEEL COMFORTABLE ILL SWITCH AND HOPEFULLY A FEW EXTRA POUNDS DOESNT THROW OFF THE WEIGHT AND HANDLING TOO MUCH. ILL KEEP THIS BUILD THREAD UP TO DATE AS MUCH AS I CAN.

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Wiring harness is a pain in the butt!!!

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
TAKING A BREAK FROM THE WIRE BUNDLE! DECIDED TO START TAKING THE HEAD APART AND SWAP PARTS OVER TO MY SPARE HEAD.

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
This is looking pretty sweet so far. I just rebuilt my trans. w/ Synchrotech Carbon's too. They're smoooooth. Good luck with the build.

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Watch out with the intake porting, theres a way to port them. It wont work if its all polished. The gaz will get into the combustion chamber as a drop. Make sure the entering of the combustion chamber is more like oem porting. (not polished and raw alluminium)
|
Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Porting and polishing decreases turbulence from stock castings and allows quick transition through the inlet and outlet ports!?! Anyways I don't plan on polishing it just a mild port job. I'll pay for someone to do it any further.

Re: 88 CRX BUILD
Why would fuel get into the combustion chamber as a drop? If that happens I've got bigger things to worry about!!! (i.e. bent rods) Hopefully my injectors spray correctly and my air flow/venturi affect atomizes the fuel. I still don't get how porting my inlets ports will change that?
