88 Civic hatch smoking and throttle issue
so i didnt see this in here. so i have a 88 civic hatch with a d15b1 and if i am going down a hill and using like compression breaking i am getting oil out of the exhaust... i put a PCV on it and it seemed to help alil but still doing it i put the PCV on a couple days ago. could be oil still in the motor slowly working its way out or could there be something else? and after my car warms up and i give it throttle it wants to bog down almost killing itself but then picks up is that just the dual point injection or again more issues i picked the car up for a grand and already dumped prolly 350 - 400 into it so anything helps... like i said in my intro i am new to the Honda scene and just want to make sure i am not over looking something easy

This could be a few things. Best to start off with the PCV and you already did that.
Sounds like I could be internal issues - broken valve, worn piston rings, bad valve stem seals
Pulling the spark plugs might show a specific cylinder that might be causing issues.
A quick comprsssion check can help see if you have anything significantly bad.
If that doesn't show anything, then an endoscope might show if there is a lot of wear on the cylinder walls.
Do you notice smoke while cruising?
If you idle at a stop light for a while, do you notice smoke and then not so much while cruising?

See thats the thing only going down hill...compression should 175 175 180 and 200 clylinder 1 at 200 made me nervous but its still within 25%...and no doesnt smoke any other time...the car runs like a dream no valve tick no knocks nothing besides the stutter on accel

Check your mechanical timing. It probably doesn't have anything to do with the oil issue but if your stumbling/misfiring it's good to check it.
Are your spark plugs oilly/really dirty? Is there any oil on the end of the spark plug boots?

Very little on the boots all plugs are clean a couple have oil on threads but thats not to worry i would love to check any kind of timing on my car but for some reason the removed all, trace to,check timing

Re: 88 Civic hatch smoking and throttle issue
Valve seals typically smoke when you idling for a while.
Rings will typically make smoke when you decelerate.
Compression looks ok, but it's not great.
I would do a leakdown test to try to pinpoint the problem.
If that doesn't tell you anything then it's time to pull the head and have a good look inside.

So down hill off throttle in lets say 4th the motor is slowing down and smoking the give it gas and blows a big cloud out prolly rings...but it doesnt do it on flate ground like going to a stop light like using compression braking doesnt smoke Thats y i am kinda lost

So i the ls fell through i think i am gonna go with the mini me swap...but my concern is the compression of of cylinders is there another set of pistons i can drop in. I have the d15b1 block wich is the same as the b2 i was told i should be looking at like 120 or to wheels for horsepower any help would be nice and yes i know a ls or gsr would be better but out of my price range
