Default 60,000 mile service for 90 CRX DX, what do I need to do?

I just got a CRX DX, with 53,000 miles, and I want to do whatever service would be required for it at 60,000, because it is a 12 year old car. The car is stock, no mods at all. I know the following would be required:

Distributor Cap and rotor - replace
Oil - replace
Oil Filter - replace
Air Filter - OEM or K&N, or ??
Radiator Fluid - flush system
Brake Fluid - replace
Auto Transmission fluid - flush system
Spark Plugs - OEM or NGK
Spark Plug wires - OEM or NGK
Timing Belt - replace(how difficult)
Water Pump - replace(how difficult)
Valve Adjustment - take to mechanic
Crank Seal ?? - replace ??

Also what manual is a good one for this car, and where can I get it. I keep hearing about Helms?

Thanks,

Juan

Added:
Fuel Filter - replace

Damn, thats some low *** miles for a crx, lucky....I'd do everything on your list and also check the timing belt and water pump, mind as well do those 2 things at the same time just to be safe. For plugs and plug wires, just go with NGK for both. Might wanna check your brake pads in the front to see if they are getting worn too, thats all I can think of for now...

Yeah, my g/f's grandfather drove it only 6,000 miles in the last 7 years. I had someone run a carfax report on it over on the resource board, and each time it was smogged, it showed approx. 2000 miles more each time.

Should I check or just change the timing belt and water pump?
How difficult to change those two things?
Also what is valve adjustments, and should I take it somewhere to get that done, and also is it needed at this time?

Thanks,

Juan

I would definately do the timing belt and water pump, I think Honda recommends them both after 60,000 miles, as for a valve adjustment, take it somewhere, unless you really know what you are doing and have all the correct tools and specs, I'd just take it somewhere....

Do you guys recommend a dealer, who sells OEM parts for a good price? And that is willing to ship all this stuff that I might need? I also might buy the stuff in quantity, so do any of them give quantity discounts?

How much of this stuff can I do myself? I can do brakes, filter changes, fluid flushes, but how hard is the timing belt, crank seal(?), and water pump.

I updated the list of stuff that needs to be done.

Well if you have the correct tools and knowledge or some one with the knowledge you can do it all your self also get a helms or electronic copy and print what you need. I do all my own maintenance. I do my valve adjustments on a regular basis since I race the car not hard when you know what your doing 20 minute job.

Timing belt and water pump not difictult as far as figuring out how to do it, just a PITA to do. basicaly pull alt/ac(if you have it) belts off support motor and remove the right side(looking from front) enging mount off, pop the crank pully, valve cover, T-belt covers off and its pretty straight forward.

If you are not that mechanicaly inclined or have not done engine work like that before I strongly sugest finding some one who can help you or just take it in to a shop. While its not that hard, alot of doing work comes from experiance. Thats why it would be best to find a friend to help you and teach you to do the work. I hate shops and hate letting people work on my car unless I know them personaly and am comfortable with their abilities.

You forgot to mention the fuel filter.

Otherwise, that's a pretty complete list.

I'd get all those parts from Majestic , except the Spark Plug Wires, I'd get the NGK Wires from Summit.

Yes it is every 90,000 for a belt change but since the car is over 12 years old,id change that old dry rot belt no matter what the milage.

Actually it is 6 years or 60,000 miles according to the manual and my dealer. If you have never done this-the option is to take it to a Honda dealership and let them do the belt, pump and-since it is already apart-the radiator coolant flush. I paid ~$350 for all the belts, pump and general service. Then again the car had 180k on it and had to travel 500+ miles here from the dealer I bought it from. Your call on this, but true--find a mechanic that you trust for the valves too. One other thing-make sure that the tensioner is OK.

Default Thanks, everyone!

I got my list down, and I am looking at both Majestic Honda, and Manchester Honda for the parts. I have a friend of mine who will be doing the timing belt because he has done a few before. The valves I will take to the mechanic/dealer, and the rest I will do by myself.

Thanks,

Juan
