1991 honda civic acceleration hesitation
having a problem with my 1991 Honda civic and was wondering if anyone has a answer
my car is a 1991 Honda civic cx, 1.5L dual point programmed fuel injection
a few week ago i had a oil leak into my spark plug champers which cause my car to die on the highway. I later read that when that happens the spark "back fires" and will burn out the coil, so I replaced my coil with a old one i had sitting in a box. the car starts now but when I try to get the car moving from a stand still its like im try to move the car in 3rd gear, no power at all. I dont have a rpm gauge on my car but with my ears id say around 1500-2000 rpms I get most of my power back but still not all of it. wondering if the oil leak might have damaged something else in the car?

Oil in the spark plug tubes? Replace the spark plug tube seals - they get as hard and brittle as potato chips over time and cause oil to leak into your spark plug tubes. I'd recommend pulling and cleaning / re-gapping your spark plugs, and if the oil has damaged your plug wires (it will cause the rubber to swell), replace those as well.
