Re: 1989 Honda Civic Si USDM Restore
As soon as I posted that above my new Muffler showed up.
I also have a spare armrest but it needs to be recovered. Lucky for me I have a couple scrap Si seat covers that I can use to harvest some custom Si fabric patterns for another armrest.

The muffler on the car looks similar to OEM but it was a clamp-on one from some muffler shop...so I bought a replacement. Brand new Honda Civic/CRX Si muffler.
I also pulled the CD player out and I might replace it with a stock Honda one.

This is looking real good so far, can't wait to see it all fixed up. You started with a nice car, hopefully you can find all the right parts now!

Exactly, that and persistance. You never know what you might come across if you look hard enough but the competion is hard with some things. More times than not rare items will pop up and sell so fast that people never even knew they were there.

This is actually a sedan console in a hb. You can tell by the way the ashtray won't sit all the way down because it hits the shifter console under it. I had the same proplem with my first console.

Just discovered that these are 14" Fittipaldi wheels. Made in Italy by O.Z. circa 1990. Not really my taste but I might hold onto them.

Picked up some brand new Honda floormats today, they are for 92 and up but will do for the time being. Also picked up four OEM 14" Si hubcaps.

Awesome, I like the look of them. Very rare too nowadays, I think most people threw theirs away.

Re: 1989 Honda Civic Si USDM Restore
The funny thing is, the more I begin to restore this car, the more I realize that it is more of a preservation and not a restoration...this car needs nothing, sure a few things here or there like Honda Access parts but the condition of this car still amazes me.
Take for instance, this car does not have a single sqeek or rattle in the entire car...not on bumps or in corners. Even clean EM1's and DC2's had some slight noise that you just get used to but this car does not. The only upgrade the car has is Tokico Blue struts but every bushing and bolt is intact!!!

This is the best part about the west coast. I grew up in the Seattle area and cars there last forever. Now I live in Wisconsin and well, they don't.
I was searching for a clean, rust-free 1988 CRX Si... and guess where I found it?

It's to the point where we're now having a hard time finding any 92-00 models without rotten 1/4's, same thing with integras from any year now, which is even worse since there are no aftermarket wheels arch replacements available.
I love seeing threads like this because I know in 10 years from now, these cars will start to gain in value, I have no doubt about it, especially where I'm from. We'll be crossing the boarder to bring them back here since we'll have none left.
