88-91's Civic si motor in golf cart
Hey guys,
I Am working on putting a 88-91 civic si motor (1.5L mpfi) and (L3 trans) in a Utility golf cart. The questions i have are related to the engine wire harness. I don't have anything for wiring just the motor. Now i have found a few different harrness online but im not sure what all i need to make it run. I know the engine harness and then im not sure what harness it plugs into next to get to the ecu. witch i also need yet. Any input will help pictures to come soon.

you need the same year engine harness and body harness, the engine harness connects to 2 terminals, one on each side of the car and they connect to a body harness that runs on the inside of the dash and all go to the 1 ecu/3 connectors. thats pretty much it.
and ef si is 1.6L mpfi but im just being nit picky. welcome to honda-tech

For your project, it may be worth getting a whole car with a rotten body. It might cost you a tad more up front but will easily save you money in the long run by not having to buy each separate component to make this work. Not to mention having the whole car will allow you to pick off stuff as you need them to get it running.
If you buy the whole car you'll have all the engine mounts, wiring with ecu, ignition, pedal assembly, clutch cable, and things like the fuel pump, headlights and taillights etc.
Let us know how this goes for you, best of luck!

Yea thats what i was hopeing for but i had a chance to get a motor and trans with 87 thousand on it for 200 bucks so i ran with it but i really only need bare min to get it runing. Everything including drive line, fuel pump, any other electrical, headlights and things like that are all gonna be custom. But yea i under stand what you mean its gonnda be a project for sure but i cant find anything near me for sale less than 1000 bucks and thats wayyy over my budget for the thing but there is one car im going to look at lkq this week to whats left for electrical
