**HELP** 1990 Honda Ef Hatch motor issues
Okay so the guy I got the car from said He was going home one night and it died about 5 mins of driving down the road so he crunk it back up and kept going. he said it died once again so he crunk it back and went on and he said it started sounding like a Subaru, and finally it died again and wouldn't start back for anything.
So I get it and theres hardly any oil in it, And I checked the plug wires and they're all soaked in oil, 4 and 3 are the worst. What happened and what needs to happen to get her to go again? Motor is a D15 |

you should get a valve cover gasket kit at any auto parts store,
just be sure that it come with the 4 rounds gaskets that are the spark plug's hole seals Oil in those cavity will cause missfire (bad contact between cable and plug) when your car sound like a subaru its because of missfire, the motor is turning on 2 or 3 cylinders If you still have trouble Once you have installed the gasket kit and cleaned both plugs and cables. you might look for new plugs and cable !!! |

Definitely start by changing out the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals. Probably wanna pick up a set of wires and plugs while your at it. Oil breaks down the insulation on electrical wiring causing the current to short or ground out which could cause the miss. If the tubes are filled with oil, pull the plugs and clean out as much of the oil as you can with a rag, brake clean, etc. Don't worry about any oil that goes into the combustion chamber it'll burn off. If your still running into misfires it probably wouldn't hurt to do a tune up, (Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Wires, PCV, Air+Fuel filter). This will eliminate a lot a variables from the situation and make your life easier down the road. Especially if you don't know the vehicles past history.
