16" HFP wheels on CRX

Re: 16" HFP wheels on CRX (SIred91)
i think that won't work without spacers.
even if they wouldn't rub, they would look ridiculous....
i always see 96ish mustangs with aftermarket wheels that look like you're describing. offset way too high, so they don't stick far enough out.

Man it's been a a while now but I used to be wheel wizard for a few years in my early 20s (man I miss that job ). The best way to really know is to test fit though that high of an offset is almost gauranteed to rub (the caliper before anything else). If I remember correctly only subarus and a handful of other awd cars ran that high of an offset. You will almost definetely have to run at least a 10mm spacer but a 15mm will probably be the best bet as far as filling the wheel well. I used to deal with H&R back in the day when it came to spacers cause there product was able to meet and exceed European TUV standards which hands down says all you need to know about there quality. You will also need longer studs to accomodate those spacers if you do in fact run them. All I gotta say is those wheels better look damn good, lol! You can check H&Rs website for pricing I think but it has been like 5 years or so since I dealt with them so I'm not 100% on that. in 2002 I think 15mm Hubcentric spacers where about $119 per pair with included longer studs at the appropriate length.
I too LOVE the 16 inch look the most on our EFs, I am most likely going with 16s in a few months but I want to see how wide I can go with the tire w/o rubbing. since traction is such an issue with any kind of power in these cars we need as much tread as possible contacting the pavement!!
Let me know if you need any more help with this wheel thing because I still remember quite a bit when I actually start thinking about it again.

Re: 16" HFP wheels on CRX (VtecSyndrome)
Thanks man....thats what I was wondering....The wheels are OEM Honda, thats why I want em.....they are the HFP wheel for the new Fit.
The bolt pattern is the same as civic, but Ill have to do something about that offset.
Pics when I get home.

Re: 16" HFP wheels on CRX (SIred91)
Wow I am suprised the fit runs that high of an offset! my buddy works at Honda and he just bought one and eventually he will get wheels. now I know his choices will be much more limited than I thought. One thing I just remembered also is to check the hub bore diameter of the fit wheel, it should be the same as most hondas at 56.1mm but the H&R spacer may also have a lip on the side facing the wheel (though they were flat 5 years ago) and if it now doe run a lip there it will be the size to fit your normal 56.1 so if the fit is different that may be an issue but other than that you'll be all good

Would that rub bad?

I'm pretty sure you would need spacer's. But I can't imagine that looking good on a CRX.

m pretty sure you will need spacers. I Had some in for a fit and was holding them up to my crx with my car on the lift but i didnt try installing them because they were for a customer watching me. They look like they will sit in about 1/4 inch too far. percision eyeball measurement..

it is not a question anymore if he needs spacers, HE DOES. it's just a matter of what size to run.
