Default Engine mount / AC belt adjustment

I test drove my CR-V today and everything is in working order. Just two questions, first the engine mount (#9 on the attached diagram) the rubber is no attached to the center. Should I replace this?

Also the a/c belt is squealing when I start the car, just try to adjust the tension to fix this?

Thanks

those wear rather quickly. I recently replaced mine yesterday actually.

It's the second time I've replaced them. First time I replaced with some polyeurethane ones. I got them because I figured they would last longer. they obviously do that but they also add tons of vibration to the inside cabin which sucks badly.

I bought a set of replacements off ebay that brought back that OEM feel for cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/94-01-Acura-Integra-97-01-Honda-CRV-Two-Front-Engine-Motor-Mount-Mounts-New-AT-/190772447886?hash=item2c6aec8a8e&vxp=mtr

The passenger side mount is easy to replace. the drivers side you have to remove the ac compressor and the mount it sits on. you can't slide the engine mount out because of a pinch weld that is in the way.

A good tip I had from yesterday when you remove the AC Compressor you'll notice it's just hanging by the hoses, it's probably not good to hang it by the hoses so I hooked a ratchet strap to the hook on the hood and hooked the other end to the compressor at one of the hard fittings. this way I could raise and lower it without the tension resting on your AC lines.

IF it's bad, when you replace this you'll notice it mostly in a MT between the shifts. it also will help diminish vibrations at idle.

it's not necessary to replace but it makes a difference in overall drive feel/quality.

Get hydraulic jack to support the engine, have something in between them so you won't scrape up the oil pan. Unbolt the engine from the mount and slowly lower the jack enough for you to remove the torque mount and slide the new one back on. Jack up to desired height and tighten everything to torque specs.
