I have a 98 with 152,000K automatic awd that is not charging. I charge the battery and the car runs fine for 15 miles or so until the charge in the battery is gone, charge it up and repeat. I had the alternator tested by my local parts store, it came back "good", to be sure I ran it down to an alternator and starter rebuild shop I've used in the past. They checked all the components and confirmed it is good. The battery is fairly new and will hold a charge when the car is not run. There is little history known but I do know this engine was r+r about 5000 miles ago, I had to go back and mend, secure or reroute some wires.

with the battery fully charged, check the charging voltage
could be an issue with the pcm, as i beleive it regulates voltage. or a connection/wiring in between

does the battery light illuminate on the dash?
checked/cleaned the chassis to battery ground?

Maybe check the alternator plug to make sure its not coming loose and things around that area lol. My civic had the same problem like yours..

Good call JDM, the plug was buggered up so I repaired and cleaned it, also the idiot light had a bad connection at the dash so I cleaned it up and it all works now, thanks!
