Alfabarn

Need a little help please. Subject car is exhibiting classic symptoms of clogged fuel filter. However, all I've read indicates that there is no external & accessible fuel filter, (as every car I've ever encountered has had, and it seems some earlier CRVs) but only a screen that is located in the tank, and supplied solely with the fuel pump. This makes no sense, and is hard to believe. Can anyone comment/verify? Did Honda lose their way with CRVs after 1999 or whatever year ?!? Thanks
