hey! I'm sarah and I'm new. Hopefully you guys can anwser my questions. I have a 93 del sol si with an eg front on it. The Z6 was on its way out and not running how I thought it should so I swapped in a sohc vtec ZC. (yes they exist.. i've been hearing about how they dont a lot but there is one in my car)

anyway it went in great.. runs good.. couple things need to be finished before I can drive it too much which should be fixed this week but I was wondering if someone on here knew the real specs for the motor. and not just hp, torque, redline etc. I've been told its the exact same as the z6 but ive also heard it has a more aggressive cam, and the pistons and rods might be different. Anyone know about these motors?

oh and before everyone starts on the why didnt i put a b in it.. its because i didnt want b. I've been hearing that a lot too

i just put zc question because it wasnt just about hp torque and redline.. it was also about the bottom end and top.. actually it would probably be more specific if it was 'what are the differences between the ZC and the Z6'.. but i'll remember to be as specific as possible

I cant give you exact references to numbers.. but I've got a vtec sohc zc in my Del Sol Si.. and it hauls *** for a mostly stock car!

lol ive only drivin it once because i needed a new chassis mount to brace the tranny and i hardly got down on it and it pulled better then the Z6 but i cant find the real specs on them anywhere.. everyone has different numbers

i keep hearing 130 hp and around 110 torque but that doesnt answer my questions about the difference in the bottom end/top end/redline etc

D16z6 is exactly the same except for the cam profile.

I've heard that the internals of the ZC are different, but everything externally is the same?

This motor definately pulls hard though compared to anything stock. Its a lot of fun!
