Default Z6 to Y8 - What's Needed?

I've searched and searched, I haven't came up with much.

I fried my Z6 in my EG, I bought a good running Y8, what can I swap over to the Y8, and what all is needed to complete the swap? Thanks!

The Y8 distributor won't bolt up perfectly or plug in. You can "make" the Z6 work on it or find any other Civic engine from 92-95 (with exception of the VX D15Z1) and it'll bolt right up. If you use the Y8 intake manifold the intake air temp sensor will not plug in as on the Y8's the IAT is on the intake arm. You can either use the Z6 intake manifold or use the Y8's and insert it into your intake arm somewhere. Also reuse the Z6 injectors and alternator as the Y8's won't plug in.The Y8 will have a knock sensor on the back of the block and the CKF sensor by the crank that you won't use with the P28 ECU so just tie it out of the way. You can use either the Z6 or the Y8 exhaust manifold.

Thanks for the reply.

Would there be any difference in running the Z6 intake manifold? I can put the Z6 distributor in the Y8 and just set timing as I would for the Y8?

No difference in intake mani mounting.

Use a timing light to get your dist on point

Most people prefer the Y8 but I'm pretty sure the results over the z6 are negligible. Plus it'll be easier to keep the z6.
