Default z6 or y8

Theres a good chance i'm about to mini-me sooner than i thought, since a z6 and y8 popped up for my takings. I got a EK DX and i'm wondering if its better to swap in a z6 or y8?

My choice would be a z6 because since converting to OBD1 it would better suit me for doing turbo in the future. But than again, using a y8 is just as good, since I won't be doing turbo for a year and the higher compression will just give me a little more juice to work with.

Any suggestions? I'll be making a final decision by friday [pay day!!!!]

the z6 is a great overall motor and i personally love it, its relaible, decent numbers, and you can boost it up a good bit without having to worry and upgrade, and i dont think that you will notice much of a diff from the z6 y8, i say just go for the z6 plus its cheaper

I'm guessing you have a 96-00 EK or should I say an EJ6?.

Illegal to have a older motor into a newer car. Doesn't matter how low mileage it is.

Even thought I personally like the z6 motor better than the Y8. Just do a mini swap. y7 block with the Z6/Y8 head. If you plan to do that. Go for a Y8 transmission. Built stronger than the Z6.

Oh, well if that's the case go for it. I thought you wanted to install the whole Z6 and get rid of your Y7. That work's just make sure you know a way to pass emission/smog with it.

I guess I read it to fast haha. My bad.
