What should the clearence be on a Z6 motor were doing a mini-me on my cousins del sol and he doesn't have a book for it. And also which is the right mark on the cam gear for TDC it has 3 marks on it which should be pointing up?

Re: Z6 Valve Clearence question (evilcrx)
intake .007 -.009
exhaust .009 - .011
on the cam gear, 2 marks are in line w/ each other, and one is 7:00. the 2 marks that are in line should be in line w/ the head surface, the 7:00 mark should point at the rear timing belt cover pointer, and "TOP" should be at top.
to find TDC put 2 straws together and insert into #1 cyl. rotate crank by hand until straw is at peak height. look at harmonic balancer. there are 2-3 lines and then there is one line that stands alone. the standalone line should be in line w/ the front timing gear cover pointer, if not adjust by hand. the straw method will insure that you are not 180 degrees off.
good luck
