Z6 Upper radiator hose mount
Sorry if this seems like alot of info, but I want you guys to know the whole story to better understand.
Engine is a D16Z6 with an ebay header
So on and off for about 5 months I've been fighting with my car's temperature. I first replaced the radiator, upper and lower hoses, and the thermostat (junk autozone one). It was fine after that for a while, but i noticed it still wasn't just right.
Now that it's been getting warmer it's starting to show it's face again. It would be fine until it was sitting still for a while, then the temperature would slowly creep up. If I drove it (not even above 10 mph or so) for a few seconds, it seems like it would get a hair warmer and then drop back down, like the thermostat finally opened up. On top of that my fan never worked right. Even when the car got hot it would not turn on. I have a new relay in it, and the fan works fine when you jump the plug. Plus, over the last couple of days, I've noticed a little coolant near the airbox/resevoir tank area. It appears to be coming from the resevoir tank lid.
So today I put in a new Honda thermostat and a new coolant temperature switch. I had the cap off and the heat on, burping the system, when i noticed a new leak.
The top radiator hose mount that connects to the engine had a small drip coming from it. My question is, is there a gasket between the mount and the engine? The mount is number 6 in this picture. It is the mount with the bleed screw on it.
I can't seem to find anything anywhere about a gasket for that, but I'm sure someone on here will know.
I want to get this fixed asap, because I drive my car often (pizza delivery )
Thanks alot,
Corey

Any silicone sealant will work.
Clean both surfaces.
put sealant on one surface and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Install block but do not tighten yet. wait 5-10 minutes.
Finish tightening, Don't over torque the bolts.

Sounds like symptoms of head lift.. You may have a blown headgasket/warped head coming soon.. Get ARP head studs and new oem gasket.

I was initially very scared of that, and I haven't ruled it out yet. I readjusted/tightened the clamp before work and it seems to have stopped leaking for the minute, but I didn't have time to wait for it to warm up and keep an eye on it. However it did fine all night at work, but i'm not so easy to get fooled this time.
I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to check my compression tomorrow.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
