Z6 Turbo IDLE ISSUES AFTER REBUILD and CROWER CAM
I just put another stock Z6 in my hatch after the motor threw a rod.
While the motor was out I installed Rocket Motorsports valve springs and titanium retainers, along with a Crower 63442Y Cam
http://www.crower.com/cat/impo...shtml
The car has stock 240cc's, P28 runnning a stock P28 map in the vacuum areas and a base map in the boost range right now... the car ran smooth as butter before(in vacuum)
I ended up getting a crower cam for a Y8 so I put a AEM gear on it and adj it 5 degrees.
I am to the point of believing that the cam is what is cuasing the idle problem. You only have a couple seconds after you press the clutch in to catch the engine from dieing and then you have to hold it up with the throttle...
My question if it is the cam, what do i need to change in crome or where ever to make it idle.... its undriveable as is and pissing me off!!!
Thanx
Adam

clean your iacv.. if that don;t work replace it..
the iacv basicly catch the idle by opening the valve.. if it don't open or not fast enought the car will die.. once you catch it from dying does it idle?

no it doesnt USUAULLY idleafter catching it
i was curious what the duty cycle on the idle adjment in crome does for you.. would that help me in any way?
and i was reading about someone having idle problems from a bad PCV valve... i am going to check, i might have left the hose out of the black lil box on the back of the block. i need to check that now.
thanx

do this.. pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure reg (this is temporary)..
and see how it idle..
when you TB is closed you car still needs air.. or it will die..

Duty cycle slider is worthless and was removed a few versions ago. Update your version of Crome. possible you hosed your dynamic compression with the cam. Its most likely due to the fact that its a Y8 cam and not timed correctly would be my first guess..

Re: Z6 Turbo IDLE ISSUES AFTER REBUILD and CROWER CAM (Hybrid93Eg)
the cam should be within a degree or 2... which i know is not exact. bt i have had them idle before with worse timing.
i guess i will have to pull a vac line and see how it does.. but nothing in the vac system changed, the ecu program didnt change.. im at a loss... i dont know what to do
i do have the o2 disabled.
