z6 oilpan on a y8?

just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this, according to the honda dealer the part numbers are different. thanks.

No they are not.
The D16Y8 utilizes an aluminum oil pan that has no real gasket. It uses Hondabond and one small rubber u-shaped piece on one side.
The D16Z6 utilizes a true steel oil pan with a normal completely rubber oil pan gasket.
Bottom line?
The two are absolutely NOT interchangable.
