z6 in EK: issues with fuel pump/first start
Hey guys,
I have quite the problem here, so I just swapped my turbo z6 out of my EG into my EK (99 EX Sedan), have all the hardware hooked up and I left my obd2 alternator connected, got a conversion harness for the dizzy and the ECU. I left the CKP and knock sensor plugs disconnected and put the IAT sensor in my charge pipe and hooked it up. I have a resistor box, DSM 450 injectors, using the y8 intake manifold.
So I go to start it yesterday and the fuel pump keeps running after the 2 second prime. The check engine light very briefly flashes and goes off immediately, the ABS computer seems to start up just fine.
I noticed that the starter Solenoid got SUPER hot, I didn’t try cranking it, figured it’s too messed up at this point.
So I have disconnected the resistor box and checked the ohmage across the red wire and all 4 black wires to be 5.6 ohms which is within spec.
I put hooked the obd2b ECU back up and it does the exact same thing, uplugged the dizzy harness and does the same thing.
I checked the t-stat ground and engine grounds, any ideas? Im thinking maybe the main relay? What would cause the starter SOLENOID to get glowing hot?
Thanks for anything!
James
