Z6 Cam in a D16Y7. Will it work?
I have a 99 civic hatch with a Y7 in her. so far I have had her chipped, aggressive lashing slight time advance short tube cai, z6 intake and a header back exhaust. just wondering if its possible to put a z6 cam in it and if so what else would I need to do?

A vtec cam in a non vtec head.......
That's like asking to have a full sex change and wanting to be able to feel something afterwords.....
You need to get an aftermarket non vtec Y7 cam and then have it tuned. More than likely it will cost you your low and mid range power for more top end power.
But your best bet is to swap in a Y8 head and get that tune and wire/activate vtec. Keep your low and mid range and top out the top end with the wild lobe.

I have a Z6 Head readily available but which should I go with. it cant be that difficult converting the Z6 head to OBD2 and running a y8 ECU? or would that even work?

Personally I would just do the Y8 head, Y8 ecu and call it a day.
It's not the head so much as the block/crank that makes the Z6 superior.
I figured you'd do the Y8 head and get a stage 3 Y8 cam and do the tune.
