Default z6 block y7 head

ok so i got a 96 civic and it has a z6 block with a y7 head but i cant seem to get the timing marks to line up it ends up being like half a tooth or or something
im using z6 timing belt which is the same as the y7 timing belt and it had the stock y7 cam gear on it but i just swapped that out for a adjustable cam gear
im using the crank pulley for the z6 and also i have the ckp sensor eliminated
my question is does anyone know if this setup has to be advanced or retarded and to what degree(s) yes ive searched but the answers seem to be all over the place like some saying 4* advanced some say 4.5*, 4.75*
im kinda new to timing like this im fine timing matching head/block motors

thanks to anyone that can help out
