Default Your methods to prevent vandalism??

Ok, so I'm about to get my hatch painted in about a week. What do I find when I go out to my car this morning??? Some piece of **** egged it!!! I could KILL!!!
Anyway, I'm thinking now about how I can deter this type of thing in the future. I already have an alarm and multiple other homegrown methods of preventing THEFT, but what about the random a-holes that just want to f%ck your stuff up because it'sa nicer than thiers??
And please, spare me the "get a glock" bullshit. It isn't feasible.

tonight, my car was almost stolen.

GET A GLOCK.

what state do you live in?

I WANT TO MOVE TO ******* TEXAS, so if it happens again, some poor thief will go without kneecaps.

there is no way to protect your car in the way that you would want, unless you can get a garage.

Shitty-*** New Crappy(Jersey) ownz me
If I lived in Tx I would have a glock, but I would also live 50 miles from anyone else so it would be a moot point.
I have on-street parking, too. So that pretty much sucks.
I need to move out of NJ.

Oh, there are NO 'poor thieves'. And the only good ones are DEAD ones.
Sorry to hear about your car, though.

Setup a camera and point it where you park your car every night. Maybe you can catch the ***** that do it and make them pay for damages

There's no way you're going to get reimbursement back from any of ths. A friend of mine's car was busted into over 6 months ago and it's still stuck in the justice system. He's at the point of giving up...

[QUOTE=deepnite]there s not much u can do if someone really want s to *** up ur car

this is a good point, if someone has it in for you, there's not much you can do. I'm just trying to deter the random acts of vandalism type of ****. F%ckin little kids and a-holes abound in NJ

..garage it when u can...park in well travel d area s when out

(no garage... on-street parking ) It was parked in on a main street in a town where there's 5 police officers for 1 sq mile!!

car cover!

If the cops don't like the cover, usually, putting the liscense plate number on the cover keeps them happy.

Sometimes vandalism is almost as bad as getting your car stolen.

That's what I'm talking about. I've got the theft stuff covered. It's the random a-holes messing w/ my car that I'm looking to avoid. An autolock or hood locks or any of that **** won't defend against eggs or paintballs (been hit w/ those too ) or rocks or whatever.
I guess the best option is the one that isn't available to me. A garage.

this is a good topic...
i was wondering what you guys do to prevent this if you guys are parked somewhere public like a mall or the movies, because before i got my cars body work done someone used to dent my car at school this incident also happened to a friend of mine at the same parking lot...the only solution i could think off right now is to ****** do a stake out and find whoever is doing it and make them go missing.... any advice?

I park mine in the garage all the time, so I never have any problems, but my brother has a truck that he's done alot of work to, well his truck got broken into in the driveway and they took nothing just fucked up his door handles and window. So these are a few things we did to ensure that this bs doesn't happen again. 1) get a big dog 2) VIDEO camera mounted out side at the peak of the house and side of the garage, and lots of lights........it's been two years since his truck was vandalized and have had no problems since. you may not want to get a dog, but I got a German Shepard she is a very good scare tactic, but a video camera is a great way to catch or scare people away, not to mention cheaper then replacing your stereo or motor.

I moved after having my old turbo coupe stripped in my drive way. I got a new car. A 93 Si HB, We own lots of cars and mine is the one that has to stay ouside in the driveway. You figure the driveway is still safe but 4 days after moving in some on tried to steal my car!! Luckly I had my ECU off the car cuz I was letting some one borrow it. So i set up a camera, it's a wireless camera with a motion sensor and comes on and sounds an alarm inside my room when some one goes near it. One night around 3am the alarm goes off and I turn my TV on to check and sure enough 2 guys where trying to get into my car, so I hit record on my VCR grab my bat and run out side. Not b4 calling the cops. Once outside one guy was headed back to thier truck to get something while the other was crouching trying to pop the hood, I walked up behind him and poped that fool in the head and ran after the other guy trying to leave, I hit his truck with my bat and he stoped and was pist off about the huge *** dents on his truck. he gets out and start bithcing about his dents, Right b4 I got near him I see the cops pulling up around the corner, so the ***** get taken in. I got in a bit of trouble about hitting the other guy with the bat but it was all cleared off. But man this camera rocks, and it works. You can get them off e-bay for cheap.

when alarm triggered, solinoid (spelling) moves out of the way and knives come swinging out
