You got ripped on that motor unless it's a complete swap, even then, that's a bit much.

b18a1, Wasn't the a1 a cable tranny swap? Or that only obd-0.

IMO 600 isn't bad for a LS swap. Just get some info on it.

Okay you need to provide more info for us to help you.

1. Is the swap OBD1 or pre-OBD?

You need to look at the plugs on the distributor and see if they are grey, or a milky white color. Grey = OBD1; Milky white = pre-OBD

The generation of OBD will determine a lot about that swap, so you need to help us help you out with that info.

2. Are you planning on using the transmission that came with (assuming the swap came with one) the B18A? If so it is cable, so you will need a special conversion kit that should also include mounts as well. These kits can be as expensive as $600.00, so understand that to do this swap RIGHT you may spend about $1,000.00 to get it in the car and running - can you afford this?

Help us help you

As for the rest of the guys replying with no help - why bother?

after you get mounts and the kit for the tranny it should be a pretty simple swap cuz its non vtec, if i were you tho i would keep it out of the car, use the motor u got in it and build an ls/vtec

if you are gona do something do it right.

is it obd0 or obd1
i thnk 600 is a little steap for a obd0 ls motor thats probaly got 100,xxx+ miles on it

Maybe not, but this place is bad about having 20 worthless replies when people should just move the fuuck on if they don't like the topic.

What's funny is that the same people who think the topic sucks actually bump the topic when they reply with horseshit.

BTW:

Doesn't the Cx use a 1-wire oxygen sensor? I thought it might. If it does then there will be some wiring because if you do it right the B18A will have an OBD1-spec 4-wire oxygen sensor which will need to be wired up.

Take a look on your exhaust manifold and see if the o2 sensor stuck in there has a 1 wire or 4-wire plug and let me know if you would please, thanks. I'm having a brain fart on this issue and I'd like to know for sure.

wayy too much for that engine without the transmission. you'll be 1200 into it with a tranny and hardware. For an extra 400 you can get a B16 with 170 horses from hmotors.

Good luck, but that is a lot for just going dual cam, unless you are turboing it.

try looking

yeah I will never buy another b18a1 locally because since its obviously from a 93 and older integra its definately going to have 100k + miles on it unless there is some sort of proof... I was told mine had 60k and it blew up 9 months later, when I took the head off it looked more like 200k...

just look around for good deals, I got a 00 b20z with 27k miles on it for $450

since it didnt come with a tranny, your definately gonna have to get one cuz the d-series tranny in your car wont work. it will be easier if you get a hydraulic tranny since your car is hydraulic clutch. trannies are becoming more rare as we speak, especially one in good condition. i would expect to pay at least $500 for one without any grinds

What? 37K for real? Are you taking someone's word for it, because 37K would be a world record for a B18A seeing as how even the newest one would be 12 years old. I'm not trying to rain out your picnic here - just trying to be realistic.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">it is obd 1,</TD></TR></TABLE>

Well then that's excellent. You won't have any painful wiring at all.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and no it didnt come with the tranny (is this gonna be a major problem?)</TD></TR></TABLE>

Actually no it's a blessing because now you can get any 1994-up "hydro" B-series transmission and do the entire swap without an aftermarket mount kit. all OE mounts can be used if you get a hydro tranny - note I said all OE, but they won't all be stock Civic mounts.

Engine mounts:

1994-up Integra timing-side engine bracket and the mount itself

1994-up Integra rear engine bracket

1994-up Integra frontside transmission bracket

A/C bracket - if you want to keep A/C and P/S get a 1995 Del Sol VTEC A/C bracket; if you have no P/S, but you want A/C get a 1997 CR-V bracket since it's cheaper than the Del Sol bracket; If you have no A/c then any 1994-up Integra A/C bracket will work fine

Rear mount itself can be stock Civic or 1994-up Integra - they are 100% the same

Front lower mounts - use Civic ones as they match up with the framerails; if you run Integra ones they will not sit flush, therefore you'd need washer and slightly longer bolts

Topside tranny mount/bracket - stock Civic or 1994-up Integra - 100% the same

If you buy any Energy Suspension mount insert kits (I highly recommend it) get whichever kit matches your front lower mounts - if you are using the Civics, then get the Civic kit; Integra, get the Integra kit.

Axles and intermediate shaft:

Any 1994-up Integra axles and intermediate shaft, or 99-00 Civic Si, or 94-97 Del Sol VTEC

All of the above info can be tossed out the window if you choose to get a crappy-*** cable tranny, which itself will cost less than a hydro, but then you'll need a mount and conversion kit, which makes the clutch fell shitty IMO - do it OE.

Shift linkage:

Any 1994-up Integra or 99-00 Civic Si

That should get you started. You should be able to use your stock Civic engine harness and basically plug in any OBD1 PR4 or P75 ECU and pretty much have zero wiring to do that way.

Let me know if you need anything else.
