Yet another OBD2 Motor to OBD1
Alright, well... I'm gonna just post this to clarify. I know to make an OBD2 motor (ie D16y8) to an OBD1 you must change distributor, injectors, ecu, and do some wiring. Here are my questions
Distributor - Can I use my D15b8 distributor for this or am I in the market to find one from a D16z6, or any other type of motor for that matter.
Injectors - I believe I can use my stock injectors (d15b8) for these, correct?
ECU - What motor does this one come from... I take it that it needs to be V-tec which means that I would need one for a D16z6?
Wiring- about how difficult is the wiring and what are some general things that I will need to do???
Thanks for helping me clarify this, if there are other things the ones listed please let me know!

Ug... see I've got an amazing deal on a D16y8 just chillin in No. Virginia that I'd like to capitalize (I sound smart) on but I can't get just one definate answer. I just want someone saying "You need to do this and this and this"

well i can tell you forsure that an obd2 b18c1 motor to be installed into an obd1 car and all you need is the ecu.. i think it gets comlicated when you go from obd1 motor -> obd2 car.. i would take the offer on the d16 if its a good deal.. im debating on getting a complete swap d16z6 for 250 from a friend while i rebuild my motor from my accident, (not sure i want to do 2 motor swaps to same car in a 3 month period)

Cool, thanks a lot for your help. If you decide not to buy the d16z6... haha lemme know. I'll take it! Thanks again... Anyone else have anything to say about this?

Yeah i have had similar problems getting answer for this same question. Some people say just ecu, others say the injectors, ecu, and distributor.

You don't need to change the distributor or injectors or ECU. As long as the wiring lines up, its fine. You can repin a OBD2 distributor and use it for a OBD1... same thing. Injectors are the same stuff as well... just different clips.

Thought you also needed an adapter for the distributor to plug into an OBD1 or was that to put an OBD1 into OBD2 I can't remember
