Default Yet another BAR question
Does the ecu have to be the same year as the motor or can it be newer? I have a 2000 yr motor and the ecu is a 2001. if anyone knows that would be GREAT!

it dont have to be the same, as long as it design for the motor of that particular generation then ur fine...go and let them take a look, they will tell you wat you need

I dont think you could use a 01 ecu. Youll need 99-00 for the SI motor. I dont even think 01 is the same obd as your 00

well the motor is 00 itr motor, ecu is a 01 itr ecu, both obd2b. so i need the same year ecu as the motor?
